Trader applications received for the 2020 MTN Bushfire festival which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be considered for the festival now taking place from 28 to 30 May 2021!
Each year we invite applications from traders looking to showcase their brands and products to our multicultural community of Fire Starters from around the world. Applications are received for traders looking to sell their products in the festival’s Global Food Village, Marketplace and Kidzone.

The Marketplace:
The MTN Bushfire Marketplace welcomes sustainably-sourced, creative and quality products that are handmade from recycled or natural and environmentally friendly materials. All products are selected against a strict product selection criterion based on the above-mentioned elements.

Kidzone
Set in a blooming wilderness of succulent and outlandish trees, the MTN Bushfire Kidzone is an adventurous space for young fire-starters to ignite their budding flames. Offering an array of stimulating and fun-filled activities ranging from storytelling, sculpting and music workshops to high-energy lawn games, this secure space is a perfect place for the whole family. Each year, the festival works with a special theme for the Kidzone that inspires creativity, engagement and skills development for children of all ages.

Apply as a Volunteer/Intern
It takes over 900 people to make the magic happen each year at the MTN BUSHFIRE festival. Our social mandate sees us offering employment to the local community for a majority of these positions. We have also developed partnerships with local and international organizations to fill other roles and provide valuable skills sharing and capacity building opportunities . Some of the organizations we have worked with over the years include Sciences Po University (France), African Music Development Programme (France), Limkokwing University (Eswatini) and Mananga College (Eswatini).
Placements are available as internships or volunteer positions and can range in duration from 3 days to 6 months depending on the role being carried out. We match applications with available volunteer work in the various departments. Examples of positions available for interns or volunteers include Project Assistants, Department Assistants, Artist Liaisons, Stage Hands, or Customer Service Officers.
Besides being able to get work experience at one of the top festivals in Africa, other benefits of volunteering may include accommodation, official merchandise and/or food and drinks. Specific benefits depend on the position, duration of placement and will be communicated if you have been selected.

Apply as a Corporate
MTN BUSHFIRE, Swaziland’s International festival of the arts offers companies/organizations a unique opportunity to promote and profile their products & services to an audience of over 29000 people over the festival weekend.
MTN BUSHFIRE corporate booth space come in two versions; a Gazebo Space and an Activation Space. Depending on planned activities, each organization will select which type best suits them.
Gazebo Spaces are in front of the Handcraft and Design Market and offer a 3 by 3 meters space with a spotlight, 15 amp plug points. As part of the Gazebo space fee, traders will receive six (6) weekend trader passes that allow access for 6 staff members’ access to the festival for the entire weekend.
Activation Spaces are for organizations aiming for a more visible and greater involvement in the festival, which might include activation staff or brand ambassadors interacting with festival attendees outside of designated activation space area. Depending on Target Market, Activation Spaces are located In Main Arena, Golden Lounge Area (VIP Area), KidZone, Marketplace, The Barn, Firefly, The Global Food Village or the Main Festival entrance. Activation Spaces are 6 by 3 meters spaces with a spotlight, 15 amp plug points. As part of the Activation space fee, traders will receive eight (8) weekend trader passes, which allow access for 8 staff members’ access to the festival for the entire weekend.

Apply As Media
Journalists, photographers, videographers and bloggers from established and reputable media platforms are invited to apply for media accreditation for this year’s festival taking place from 29 to 31 May 2020.
With its roster of international talent, innovative, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive programming mandate, and its amazing spirit of diversity and celebration, MTN Bushfire is also a major media event that attracts media practitioners and journalists from across the African continent and around the world.
Applications are open from 1 February, 2020 and close on 15 April, 2020.
MTN Bushfire welcomes media accreditation applications from authorised journalists, bloggers, photographers or videographers from the following:
- Recognised local, national, regional or international daily newspapers, wire and news services
- Recognised local, national, regional or international magazines
- Recognised local, national, regional or international radio and television stations and network
- Recognised local, national, regional or international blogs or websites
General Info –Accredited media personnel will receive tickets for the festivals but NOT for partners or guests. Media access does NOT enable access to backstage areas or other secure areas. A media centre will be designated, equipped with power and wireless internet.
Please Note: ONLY accredited media will be able to attend media press conferences, request interviews with artists, or to have access to the front and side of stage for photos and videos. Media accreditation is NOT transferable without written consent from MTN Bushfire.
Media accreditation does NOT include ANY travel or accommodation unless specifically pre-arranged with MTN Bushfire.
Accredited journalists will be able to book camping via the MTN Bushfire ticketing platform.
